From supporting grassroots competitors through to financial grants for elite Kiwi drivers competing on the international stage, the TQF is offering support unprecedented in New Zealand motorsport.

An annual prize package of $70,000 is offered by the TQF to the winner of a Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Trophy Scholarship towards competing in the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Trophy. The winner must be aged 21 years or younger and eligible for the appropriate MotorSport NZ license.

The Hampton Downs NZ Racing Academy holds an annual Toyota 86 Shoot-out, with one of the finalists receiving a cash grant of $54,000 towards a season of racing in the Bridgestone GR86 Championship.

The new TQF Development Driver Fund will be open for applications from drivers aged 20 and under who are competing in the following categories as part of the Repco NextGen NZ Championship:
• Formula Ford
• Mazda
• TA2
• GT New Zealand (GTNZ)
To be eligible, a driver’s category must be competing in four or more rounds of the Repco NextGen NZ Championship. Full details regarding the application process and criteria will be announced shortly.

Drivers who have embarked on international careers and continue to show promise in their chosen path are eligible to be considered for financial assistance towards their racing budget.
So far, grants have been made to Liam Lawson, Hunter McElrea and Callum Hedge.

Since its establishment in 2021, TQF has been proud to support Formula Ford as a category, contributing approximately $250,000 through prize cheques, pole position awards, and travel funds - investments made in the belief that development categories represent one of the most vital pathways for emerging racing talent in this country.
In June 2026, Formula Ford shared expansion of funding for young drivers and that TQFs sponsorship of the category was no longer required following the signing of new major partner, Rodin Cars. TQF warmly welcomes Rodin’s increased involvement for Formula Ford.
Rather than stepping back, TQF has chosen to step forward - scroll down for more information on the new TQF Development Driver Fund.
